C1: Who are they? Órgiva, Granada (SPAIN)

Monday (13.01.2020)

The Spanish partner and their Headmaster gave a warm welcome to all partners participating in the first mobility «Who are they?» celebrated in Órgiva. Then all partners made a guided visit by the school. Later in the morning, we had a guided tour in Orgiva, visiting Church, Library, Chapel, Market. The guided tout was made by Tourism students from IES Alpujarra. At around 2:30pm all students and teachers participating in the project and lunch together at school. In the evening, at 6:30pm, we all went to a concert of Tibetan Quartz Bowls.

Tuesday (14.01.2020)

All students went to class from 8:30 am until 10:20 am. At the same time, teachers from all teams had a Coordination meeting at IES Alpujarra. At 10:20 am we went on a trip to the Alpujarra Alta: Capileira, Pampaneira and Pórtugos. We visited these three typical villages and had lunch in Capileira at 2:00 pm.

Wednesday (15.01.2020)

That day we went to Granada, the capital city of the province. At 9:20 am we started the The Alhambra Palace and Generalife Tour. All students and teachers had the chance to visit the fortress complex, the palace and the gardens of the Moorish monarchs of Granada. The name Alhambra, signifying in Arabic, «the red», is derived from the reddish colour of its outer walls. At around 2:30 pm we all went to have lunch to a special place in the city called El Campo del Príncipe. In the afternoon we did a guided tour around the city and we ended watching a Flamenco Show in Plaza Nueva.

Thursday (16.01.2020)

Working day! At IES Alpujarra, in Órgiva, we celebrated our International Secondary Schools presentation to parents, students and teachers of IES Alpujarra and to all students from 1º ESO A, B, C and 2º A, B, C. Every school introduce themselves. Then we had a conference with two refugees and we all asked several questions to discover their reality. Later, we had the Town Mayor’s welcome and later we did the Route of the Centenary Olive trees with all students. On the evening, we celebrated the Farewell Party organized by the host families.

Friday (17.01.2020)

On Friday, we went to Granada again to visit the Albaicín (Unesco Site), the old neighborhood that was the Arab city in the Middle Ages.

Saturday (18.01.2020)

All partners returned to their home countries.
